Arrows sticked in the ground
This is in fact very similar to arrows in the quiver at yout hip, however drawing of them is easier. It is known that this was used by English bowmen.
Advantages of arrows sticked in the ground
Arrows are drawn easier, so everything is more comfortable than drawing directly from the quiver. Arrow sticked in the ground can be plucked by a small movement, and then put (in an arc movement) wherever you want. Which is different from quiver drawing, where you have to use first a long straight movement to put an arrow out.
Disadvantages of arrows sticked in the ground
Biggest disadvantage is that you cannot take arrows with you when moving. Because speed archer usually has to move, it is a fundamental problem.
